B2G - Day 6

9AM Position Report

A blessedly non-exciting day.

We did some sailing and some motoring, both at pretty slow speeds. Seas have been much calmer and my crew is starting to recover. The sailing that we did was all close hauled and did not cross off as many miles towards our destination as I would have liked, but it was better than nothing.

We saw a water-spout this morning and actually had to steer around it. For you prairie folk, think dust-devil on the water. That was a first for us. We are currently on a close reach in very light winds, which we will milk for as long as we can. We have some time in hand right now if we don't want to arrive in Golfito in the middle of the night, so going slow is actually an option.

Distance made good so far is 545 nautical miles. We should be in Golfito tomorrow morning.
