Panama to Ecuador - Day 1

9AM Position Report

This morning, we got underway at 7:15AM.
Upped anchor and found our way through the shipping traffic.
No wind at all, motorsailing with only the mainsail up, in hopes of some wind later.
Making very good time with a favorable ebbing tide. Already this morning we have gone about 11 miles from the anchorage at La Playita. Note: The motion underway, in these light conditions, is actually better than what we had been putting up with in the anchorage.
The day is mostly overcast, but some sun shining on us at the moment. We expect we will be seeing some rain squalls along the way over the next few days - we had a doozy yesterday while still at anchor.

  1. Writing from Las Brisas Anchorage, we on Kalliope read your blog enthusiastic-ly. I am impressed by what seems like a speedy passage to Pto Amistad. We miss you and many others from La Eskinita, but nice "new" folks are still arriving. We flew our daughter, son-in-law and grandson here for a few days in Las Pearlas. This was a success and of course it was great to see them. I couldn't get them to bring a new set of house batteries in their luggage though. Please keep those blog posts coming! Deb and Gregg
